Good morning everyone this is my DT sample for this weeks Charisma challenge which was set by our lovely Leanne and the theme is "Thank You". This is quite a long post as I've added the tutorial for the box, so apologies if you fall asleep before the end..
Your box is now ready to be decorated and filled with yummy treats or use it without the lid to store all your little bits and bobs on your desk. Remember as long as you start with a square you can make it any size at all, try little ones made with 8inx8in or 6inx6in paper they're really cute. A really handy little box......
I have been asked how to make this little Origami box, so here it is. I've never done a tutorial before so I hope you can understand my explanation. If you have any problems with it please let me know and I will do a Picture one showing step by step instructions. Or you can find it here which is where I found it originally.
Starting with a 12" square piece of card or if you prefer use paper, I used Basil basic card, follow the folding instructions here. I did try to upload the file but Blogger won't let me but I'll keep trying. You now have the basic box, if you would like to make a lid then read on.
Cut a piece card 30cm x 13cm, now measure 12cm in from the end on the longest side of the card and score a line across , do the same at the other end and make a fold on these two lines and you should have a piece of card 30cm long with a 6cm folded area across the middle, this is the depth of your box .It should look like the cover of a book.
If you want to cover the lid and bottom with designer paper then do it NOW it's much easier to do before you fix the lid and bottom on to the box. Now wrap the piece of card round your box and stick the bottom and back with double sided tape.
